Blowers/Boosters
Hope Air Systems is proud to distribute the industry-leading Kaeser Omega Profile rotary-lobe blower systems. Designed for high efficiency, reliability and low noise levels, these rugged blowers offer flows up to 5350 cfm and are suitable for operation up to 15 psig. Systems are available up to 350 HP. Hope Air Systems also distributes Kaeser Booster Compressors which are designed to boost the pressure of existing compressed air where it is needed, up to 650 psig.

bare blowerTwo-lobe or Three-lobe blowers
Kaeser Omega blowers are available in a two-lobe or three-lobe configuration. The three-lobe configuration offers reduced pulsation and lower noise levels, while the two-lobe version offers a slightly higher efficiency and versatile mounting. The distinctive heavy-duty ribbed housing provides strength and rigidity while ensuring adequate cooling. The integral drive-end bearing support provides for a heavy-duty design and maintains alignment in difficult applications.

blower rotorBlower operating principles
The inlet air is trapped between rotor and casing and delivered to the discharge side without being compressed along the way. The two rotors intermesh, but do not touch, and therefore need no lubrication. The more precise the machining of the rotors and casing, the smaller the gap between them, which means the higher the volumetric efficiency and the lower the discharge temperature of the air. The heat generated by compression dissipates with the flow medium. On three-lobe blowers, the proprietary casing channel helps equalize the internal pressure and discharge pressure to reduce pulsations and minimize noise.

booster principlesBooster operating principles
Compressed air from the main air system is piped to the booster. Using pre-compressed air is more economical than starting with ambient air. With high volumetric efficiency, the booster compresses the air up to the desired pressure. This two-stage system is ideal and economical for many applications when only a moderate amount of high-pressure air is required. The accompanying diagram demonstrates that the booster (pictured in the middle) is upstream from the compressor, where it can help boost pressure.

In any application, there are a number of equipment and installation choices. The challenge is to select the most cost effective option while maintaining optimum system performance. Hope Air Systems relies on its in-house engineering team to help guide customers through the selection process and to meet the customer's wants and needs with regard to efficiency, noise and price. With its state-of-the-art planning tools and years of experience, Hope Air Systems can help ensure just the right system is selected for the required application.

Booster design features
The Kaeser Booster Compressor and Booster EP Compressor are designed for demanding commercial and industrial applications such as seal testing in pneumatic and hydraulic devices, presses, clamping fixtures and PET bottle blowing production. Most industrial and commercial facilities are designed for pressures of 90 to 100 psig. Adding a booster compressor to increase pressure only where it is required, is more economical than using higher pressures for the entire facility. Kaeser offers a wide range of models with Horsepower capacities from 3HP to 60 HP and psig up to 650. Some of the high quality design features include:

High pressure pumps
The high pressure pumps with two or three cylinders feature lower RPMs for extended operational life and consistent efficiency

  • High quality cylinders
    • The cylinders are precision manufactured through a special process to ensure minimum oil consumption and negligible wear for exceptional durability
  • Lower discharge temperatures
    • Three cylinder models feature an aftercooler with a two-speed fan to ensure lowest possible compressed air discharge temperatures.
  • Effective aftercooling
    • The N Series boosters include an industrial grade aftercooler that is efficient and maintenance-free, and also achieves significantly lower compressed air outlet temperatures.
  • Water-cooled aftercooler
    • The EP models are available with a water-cooled aftercooler that keeps Delta T at about 5K even in high ambient temperatures.
