Hope Air Systems Adds High Pressure Compressors from Sauer to its Lineup

Northborough, MA (12-01-2015) – Hope Air Systems has added Sauer high pressure air compressors to its lineup of industrial compressors, dryers, and accessories. The high pressure compressors from Sauer showcase engineering and production expertise developed over many years, particularly providing design solutions for the military. Sauer compressors have been installed on US Navy Destroyers, Frigates, Aircraft Carriers, Corvettes, and Fast Attack crafts.

According to a spokesperson from Sauer, “The principle of air cooling is an international shipbuilding standard when it comes to starting air compressors of less than 50 scfm. Back in the 50s, Sauer had already started the development of air-cooled compressors in this capacity range as an alternative to water-cooled units which are in general high maintenance and more prone to failure.”

Today, Sauer’s 2-stage air-cooled starting air compressors are among the most modern and low maintenance compressors available worldwide.

General advantages of the Sauer compressor include:

  • Low installation costs due to absence of cooling water circuit
  • Light-weight and less space required for installation
  • High performance valves, friction-free operation for long maintenance intervals
  • Integrated flexible coupling, low-maintenance and safe
  • Reliable and safe to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 130° F

Since 1933, The Hope Group has been serving the industrial requirements of the region, specializing in rubber products and eventually in fluid power and compressed air. The Hope Air Systems division began in the early 1970's and emerged over the ensuing 40 years as the premier supplier of rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors in New England. The company operated out of facilities in Fitchburg MA until its relocation during the 1980's to Northborough MA.

After its relocation to a newly constructed 60,000 sq ft warehouse, manufacturing and office complex in Northborough MA, The Hope Group continued its expansion with various acquisitions ultimately opening seven Parker Stores, which provided Hope Air Systems with distribution centers in nine locations in five New England states. Hope Air Systems secured the New England franchise for Kaeser Compressors in 2005 and has been the leading rotary screw compressor provider in the region.
