Hope Air Systems Distributes Nitrogen Generators
For over 40 years Hope Air Systems has been engineering solutions for industry in the form of skid-mounted on-site air compressor-based motion control and process control machine packages. Most notable have been the PET bottle blowing air compressor packages distributed and installed throughout the world. Today, Hope Air Systems provides air compressor packages, process cooling systems, vacuum systems and PSA and Membrane Nitrogen Generator systems for a wide range of industrial applications.
Nitrogen is an Important Component in Modern Manufacturing
In the modern manufacturing environment of bio-medical technology, food processing, scientific laboratory, semiconductor manufacturing and other equally demanding high technology process environments, the requirement for high purity nitrogen and other analytical gases continue to grow. Traditionally the accepted source for specialized gas, such as nitrogen, has been the high-pressure gas cylinder. Typically filled to a high pressure of 2,200 psig, these cylinders are filled at a gas production facility, distributed to the user and retrieved when empty. They are then refilled for re-distribution to the next customer. Inherent in this process are a lot of negative circumstances. First, there are a lot of delivery and service inconveniences. Second, there are some serious safety issues. Third, there is the issue of sustainable purity to meet manufacturing and testing standards. And finally, not the least of the negative issues, is the high cost of all the handling, processing and potential downtime.
Advantages of On-Site Nitrogen Generation
The advantages of on-site compressed gas generators for manufacturers, continues to drive the abandonment of bulk, cylinders and dewars as a source for industrial gases. The improvements in the technologies in generating high purity gases, in the face of increasing costs for cylinder gas, has brought the on-site generation of nitrogen into the sphere of economical common sense. Hope Air Systems is proud to distribute nitrogen generators built by On Site Gas Systems, Inc. They design and build highly reliable and efficient membrane and PSA nitrogen generators.
Membrane and PSA Filtration
To help our customers understand what happens with a nitrogen generator, it easier to explain that both processes are means of filtration. The purpose is to extract the nitrogen or the oxygen from the ambient air for use in the desired industrial application. Perhaps it would help to keep the air dry in a bag of potato chips so they won’t be soggy by the time the consumer gets the package home. A small burst of nitrogen into the bag during the sealing process will get the job done.
Basic filtration relies on separating different sized particles to facilitate the process. It is not a chemical process rather, it is a physical process. Nitrogen particles are larger and slower than other particles and that means we can separate them, capture them and use the filtered result. Depending on the application, flow rates and other factors, either a membrane or PSA process can be selected. We offer both.
